When asked whether he records his pieces or lets them disappear into the
next best drawer, the jazz bassist has given himself the answer: Now or
never! This is how the debut album "On The Walk" was created together with
five fantastic musicians.
Although Bernhard Osanna stays behind his bass, he steps out of the
background as a composer.
A variety of styles, changing line-ups and the live atmosphere of the recording
are the outstanding features of this CD.
"Beebock", for example, reminds us of the swing era through its energetic
wind section and vibraphone. Clarinet, vibraphone and double bass sound
almost like chamber music in "Winter in Venice". In "Conversation" and "Birdy"
the rhythm section plays a mixture of jazz rock and funk.
Whether solo, accompaniment or in ensemble playing, the instrumentalists on
this recording perform at the highest level!
A multifaceted album with colorful timbres, dynamic grooves and powerful
