The fascinating beauty of this recordings is the plain clarity, that knows no superfluous note, every second 100 percent comprehensible to the listener, but never losing excitement and suspense while its duration. You actually feel like hearing a well-rehearsed Duo with all its tiny nuances, that representate a virtuoso interplay. Nothing at all makes the impression of a self-accompanying soloist. Despite the extensive technical possibilities there was waived on any additional instrumentation – it´s all the two guitars playing. One could fear that leads to a very reduced, spartan sound image, but far from it, every next tune brings out a new, finely tuned colour. Clear is: You must love the sound of the guitar and the typical phrasing of jazz to immerse in listening pleasure. But safely be sure: This is another rare gem available, which should be eyed up closely by any notoric audiophile jazz-lovers immediately. Stylistically accurate, of outstanding musical subtlety, of precise craftsmanship, and last but not least a very tasteful fourtyseven minutes piece of music. -
